When interviewing real estate agents be aware that there are agents out there who will try to win your confidence by telling you that your house is worth much more than its true market value. Agents like this are just trying to get you to sign a listing agreement. Then if the house doesn't sell after a short period of time they'll try to get you to lower the price to a more realistic level.

The problem with this little game is that it forces you the seller to wait a longer length of time before your house sells. Its much better to select a real estate agent who gives you a realistic market value price for your house. If you get a price from an agent that seems too good to be true, it probably isn't.
